N.B. ENTRIES CLOSED EARLY on 29 July as 32 players max. entry received. Players can register at admin@uqtc.org.au to go on standby list in case there are any withdrawals.
The 2025 Ekka Singles Challenge Tournament is a daytime tournament that will be played on the Brisbane Exhibition Holiday (Wednesday, 13 August) from 8 a.m. to approx. 1 p.m.
Note: If play on 13 August is prevented or interrupted because of the weather, the tournament will be played or continued on the following Sunday morning, 17 August. Entrants should ensure they are available for both mornings if necessary.
This tournament is designed for players of all standards although it will be played as a single draw. Even though all players (male & female) will go into a single draw, because of the continuous feed-in format which will be used, they will drop into consolation rounds whenever they lose and will keep playing. This means there will be some mis-matches in the early rounds but players will progress through the draws to meet players of their own standard and will get lots of matches.
As everybody goes into a single draw, players do not need to know their player rating or Fixtures grade to enter this tournament.
Entrants must be Club Members but non-members will be given free Restricted Membership so they can enter. Entry fees for Restricted Members are higher than for Ordinary, Associate & Junior Members.
Entries close on Thursday, 7 August. N.B. Entry is restricted to 32 players.
N.B. Entries were closed early last year as entries had reached the numbers that could be accommodated in a single-morning tournament.
Entries can also be lodged on-line via the Tennis Australia Tournaments Website here.
Players can use this link to check their entries have been received and to check who else has entered.
Note: When players go to enter on-line, they are asked to log-in using their Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile log-in. Players can check if they have a Tennis ID & Competitive Player Profile or they can create a Competitive Player Profile & Tennis ID & UTR link by going to https://www.tennis.com.au/competitiveplay/create-your-cpp. Anybody who has a problem logging in, or entering events once logged in, should contact Tennis Australia via play@tennis.com.au or Ph 1800 752 983.
