Presentations & Ace of the Month Award

The end-of-month Social Tennis BBQ on Sunday, 29 June, provided an opportunity to recognize some outstanding performances on court and contributions to the UQ Tennis Club.

After completing the audit of the Club’s 2024 financial report, Mark Hodgson stood down as the Club’s Honorary Auditor.  Mark served as Honorary Auditor from October, 2012.  In recognition of Mark’s long-term service to the Club, Troy Smith (Vice President), presented him with a complimentary Club Membership, some free Social Tennis passes, a Club shirt and a bottle of wine.

To recognize the work of the volunteers who make all programs possible, the Club has introduced the Ace of the Month Award.  Troy Smith presented the inaugural Ace of the Month Award to David Kimber.  David received an Award Certificate, a HEAD pack (backpack, balls & overgrips) and some free Social Tennis passes,  David has been one of the main organizers of the Club’s monthly barbecues for years.

Trophies for the Annual Club Championships were also presented.  Because of the rain in the late afternoon, the BBQ was started early and the presentations were done across the late afternoon and early evening as trophy recipients were available.
