Ladies' Doubles Tournament

The ladies who have been participating in the Ladies’ Sunday Morning Social Tennis program had the opportunity to play in a fun tournament last Sunday morning, 29 June.

22 players participated in the Ladies’ Doubles Surprise Tournament. The event was organized by Gabby Torbey and Rebecca Warner.

This was a fun tournament format in which all players were paired initially through a random draw and allocated to a numbered court for the first match. After each match, the winners moved up a court and the losers moved down a court. Players then switched partners for the next match. Everybody got seven one-set matches for the morning and got to play with & against a variety of players. Games won and games lost were recorded for each player and their match ratios calculated.

The winners of the last match on the top court were April Tang & Renate Cridland who defeated Robin Yang & Mary Tucker.  The players with the best match ratios were Renate Cridland (3.50), Nina Sang (2.79), Robin Yang (2.71) and April Tang (2.47).

The Lucky Prize Draw winners were Ingris Romero and Eden Mead.
