2025 Spring Night Tournament Series

The UQ Tennis Club's 2025 Tournament Program continues with the Spring Night Tournament Series.

The Spring Series consists of 3 Saturday-night tournaments:
Doubles Tournament  -  27 September (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.)
Singles Tournament  -  11 October [Open & B Grade] and 18 October [A Grade & C Grade] (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.)
Mixed Doubles Tournament  -  1 November (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.)

Note:  There is a back-up date for each tournament in case play is prevented or interrupted by the weather or for any other reason.  If play on 27 September is prevented or interrupted, the tournament will be played or completed on 4 October.  If play on 11 October is prevented or interrupted, the events will be played or completed on 18 or 25 October.  If play on 18 October is prevented or interrupted, the events will be played or completed on 25 October.  If play on 1 November is prevented or interrupted, the tournament will be played or completed on 8 November.  Entrants should ensure they can be available for all relevant nights if necessary.

Entries close on the Thursday before each tournament.

These are all participation-style tournaments which use Round-Robin formats to keep everybody playing.  Events are offered at 4 levels to cater for players of all standards.

Events are offered at 4 levels:
OPEN  -  top level (open to all players)
A GRADE  -  equiv. to or lower than Men UTR 7.50 & Women UTR 6.50 (approx. UQTC Fixtures A2 Grade; UQTC Social low Red)
B GRADE  -  equiv. to or lower than Men UTR 6.50 & Women UTR 5.50 (approx. UQTC Fixtures B1 Grade; UQTC Social Yellow)
C GRADE  -  equiv. to or lower than Men UTR 4.50 & Women UTR 3.50 (approx. UQTC Fixtures C1 Grade; UQTC Social Green & Blue)

Players should check their UTRs for event eligibility before entering. Where players are Un-Rated or have a Not Reliable Rating (i.e. have insufficient results for a Reliable Rating), eligibility will be decided by the Committee using any information available, such as Fixture grades or Social Tennis ratings.  Eligibility for Doubles events will be determined by a player’s best UTR (either singles or doubles).  Where partners are of different standards, level eligibility will be decided by the higher standard.

All entrants in these tournaments must be members of The University of Queensland Tennis Club (UQ Tennis Club).  However, non-members will be granted Restricted Membership of the UQ Tennis Club (includes free registration with Tennis Queensland) so they can compete.  The entry fees for Restricted Members will be higher than for Full Members (Ordinary, Associate, Junior or Hon. Life Members).

Entry Fees:
Full Members  -  $35 (Singles) or $25/player (Doubles)
Restricted Members  -  $40 (Singles) or $30/player (Doubles)

Entries should be lodged on-line via the Tennis Australia Tournaments Website (http://tournaments.tennis.com.au).

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE

Tennis Australia has made changes to the way players access Competitive Play websites. TA is introducing a Single Sign In to access Match Centre, League Manager & Tournaments with a Multi-Factor Authentication requirement.  Things have not gone smoothly and many players are having trouble accessing anything.

If you find you cannot lodge an entry on-line, please contact play@tennis.com.au to resolve the problem but also lodge an entry by e-mail to admin@uqtc.org.au (providing name, DOB, gender, Tennis ID, contact e-mail, contact phone number, event entering and, for doubles, partner’s name).
