ENTRIES CLOSED. Entries closed early as max. players reached. Players can register at admin@uqtc.org.au to go standby list in case there are late withdrawals.
The November Singles Challenge will be a UTR-tiered event with players divided into round-robin groups of five based on their UTRs – the top 5 UTRs in Group 1, the next 5 in Group 2, etc. Every player will get four one-set matches during the morning. Each group winner will receive a $50 gift card.
The aim will be to have a small range of UTRs in each group. Where feasible, players will be divided into male and female groups; but men and women will be combined in the same group if that is the best way to achieve an even competition.
Note: If play on Saturday morning, 15 November, is prevented or interrupted because of the weather, the event will be played or completed on Saturday morning, 22 November. Entrants should ensure they can be available for both mornings if necessary.
Eligibility: Entry is restricted to members of The University of Queensland Tennis Club. However, non-members will be granted Restricted Membership of the Club (which includes free registration with Tennis Queensland) so that everybody can enter. N.B. A higher entry fee applies for Restricted Members.
Format: Round-Robin groups of 5 (based on UTRs), which means all entrants will get 4 matches.
Entries close 9 November but, because the competition is limited to 35 players (7 groups of 5, using 2 courts per group), entries will be closed early if 35 entries are received before 9 November.
Note: When players go to enter on-line, they are asked to log-in using their Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile log-in. Players can check if they have a Tennis ID & Competitive Player Profile or they can create a Competitive Player Profile & Tennis ID & UTR link by going to:
Anybody who has a problem logging in, or entering events once logged in, should contact Tennis Australia via play@tennis.com.au or Ph 1800 752 983.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE
Tennis Australia has made changes to the way players access Competitive Play websites. TA is introducing a Single Sign In to access Match Centre, League Manager & Tournaments with a Multi-Factor Authentication requirement. Things have not gone smoothly and many players are having trouble accessing anything.
If you find you cannot lodge an entry on-line, please contact play@tennis.com.au to resolve the problem but also lodge an entry by e-mail to admin@uqtc.org.au (providing name, DOB, gender, Tennis ID, contact e-mail, contact phone number, current UTR and , if no verified UTR, information about playing level).
See Tournament Entry Condition 6 (see Info Sheet) for information about how to pay entry fee by internet transfer.
