NOTE: ENTRIES CLOSED. Entries have been closed early as the 32 maximum entries have been received. Players can register via admin@uqtc.org.au to go on the standby list in case there are any withdrawals.
As with all the Club’s participation-style tournaments, the Fastennis Singles Tournament is designed to cater for players of all levels and the aim is to keep everybody playing irrespective of whether they are winning or losing. In Fastennis, a set is won by the player who is first to win 21 points (like in the old table tennis scoring system).
Levels:
This tournament is designed to cater for players of all standards although it will be played as a single draw.
Under the Continuous Feed-In Draw format which will be used, players will drop into consolation draws every time they lose. This ensures multiple matches for all players and players will come through the draw to meet players of a similar standard.
Eligibility: Players are eligible to enter if they have a Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile and, if a junior, are 13 years of age in 2026 (i.e. born 2013 or earlier). Players under 13 years of age are not eligible to enter unless approved by the Tournament Director.
Member Discount: The entry fee is $40 for UQ Tennis Club members or $50 for non-members. Players who are not members of the UQ Tennis Club must pay the Non-Member Extra Entry Fee of $10 (listed under Extra Items) in addition to the Event Entry Fee of $40.
Format: Participation-style, which guarantee all entrants get multiple matches.
Entries: Lodge entries on-line here. As there is a 32-player maximum for this tournament, entries may be closed before the 19 April advertised entry deadline. ENTRIES HAVE BEEN CLOSED EARLY.
N.B. When players go to enter on-line, they are asked to log in using their Competitive Player Profile or to create a Competitive Player Profile (with a Tennis ID and UTR link) if they don't already have one. A Tennis ID (11-digit number, starting with '66') is allocated automatically when players create a Competitive Player Profile. To check if you already have a Competitive Player Profile, go to (https://www.tennis.com.au/competitiveplay/competitive-player-profile) and click on ‘Complete your Competitive Player Profile’ at the bottom of the screen which will then give you a number of options depending on whether you already have a Tennis ID Account or Universal Tennis Account or neither or don’t know. The old Player ID Number (11 digits, starting with ‘61’) is no longer valid.
