Levels: Events at 4 levels to cater for players of all standards.
Open: Top Level A Grade: Equiv. to or lower than Men UTR 7.5 & Women UTR 6.5 (approx. UQTC Fixtures A2, UQTC Social low Red) B Grade: Equiv. to or lower than Men UTR 6.5 & Women UTR 5.5 (approx. UQTC Fixtures B1, UQTC Social Yellow) C Grade: Equiv. to or lower than Men UTR 4.5 & Women UTR 3.5 (approx. UQTCFixtures C1, UQTC Social Green & Blue)
N. B. Players should check their Singles & Doubles UTRs before entering. Eligibility for Doubles events will be determined by a player’s best UTR (either singles or doubles). Where players are Un-Rated or have a Not Reliable Rating (i.e. have insufficient results for a Reliable Rating), eligibility will be decided by the Committee using any information available, such as Fixture grades or Social Tennis ratings. Where partners are of different standards, level eligibility will be decided by the higher standard.
Eligibility: Entry restricted to players who are members of the UQ Tennis Club. However, non-members will be granted Restricted Membership of the UQ Tennis Club (which includes free registration with Tennis Queensland) so that everybody can enter. A higher entry fee applies for Restricted Members.
Format: Participation-style tournament (formats used that keep everybody playing irrespective of whether they win or lose).
N.B. To play in Tournaments and enter tournaments on-line, players must have a Competitive Player Profile linked to Universal Tennis Ratings and a Tennis ID (11-digit number starting with ‘66’). To find your Tennis ID or create a Competitive Player Profile & Tennis ID & UTR link go to:
Tennis Australia has made changes to the way players access Competitive Play websites. TA is introducing a Single Sign In to access Match Centre, League Manager & Tournaments with a Multi-Factor Authentication requirement. Things have not gone smoothly and many players are having trouble accessing anything.
