2022 Sizzling Summer Night Series Singles Tournament

Levels: Events at 4 levels to cater for players of all standards.  Because entries are now too high to play the tournament in one night, the Open & A Grade events will be played on 12 February and the B Grade & C Grade events will be played on 19 February.

• Open (12 February): Top level - entries close 10 February
• A Grade (12 February): Equiv. to or lower than ITN 5 (UTR 8, UQTC Fixtures A2, UQTC Social low Red) - entries close 10 February
• B Grade (19 February): Equiv. to or lower than ITN 6 (UTR 6, UQTC Fixtures B1, UQTC Social Yellow) - entries close 17 February
• C Grade (19 February): Equiv. to or lower than ITN 7 (UTR 4, UQTC Fixtures C1, UQTC Green & Blue) - entries close 17 February

Eligibility: Entry is restricted to members of The University of Queensland Tennis Club. However, non-members will be granted Restricted Membership of the Club (which includes free registration with Tennis Queensland) so that everybody can enter. N.B. A higher entry fee applies for Restricted Members.

Availability:  If play on 12 February is prevented or interrupted because of the weather, the Open & A Grade events will be played or continued on 19 February or 26 February.  If play on 19 February is prevented or interrupted because of the weather, the remaining events will br played or continued on 26 February.  Entrants should ensure they are available for all of these nights if necessary.  

Entry Fees:  $30 for Ordinary & Associate Members or $35 for Restricted Members.

Grand Prix:  This is a Category A event in the Club's 2022 Grand Prix.

Format: Round-Rrobin, which guarantee all entrants get multiple matches.

N.B. When players go to enter on-line, they are asked to create a Tournament account if they don't already have one.  To create a Tournament account, players need their 11-digit Tennis Australia My Tennis Player ID Number.  Unfortunately, although the TA tournament on-line entry system still requires the 11-digit Player ID Number, Tennis Australia has stopped issuing Player ID Numbers automatically for new players being registered through My Tennis (as it is switchng to using player e-mail addresses for identification purposes).  This means that players who do not have a Player ID Number, or don't remember their number, need to contact Tennis Australia via play@tennis.com.au or 1800 752 983 to obtain their number or have a number created for them (information required - name, posal address, unique e-mail address, birthdate and a phone number).
